Forum Marketing: How To Get Traffic From Forums

It doesn’t matter what niche you’re in or what Internet Business you are doing, there is a forum somewhere online whereby you can get traffic. You can get traffic from forums if you search online for forums that represent your niche, keywords or word phrases. Let’s pretend for a moment that your niche is about “making money online” and you want to find forums that are about “making money online”. You can do this for what ever niche you’re promoting, but this example I’m going to use the broad niche, “making money online.” Here’s How!
Step 1
Go to your favorite search engine and I prefer Google, because of its accuracy, and type in, making money online forum.
Step 2
Look at the search result returns and take any one of the 10 search returns and click on one of the forums and scroll down to see when was the last time someone posted to the forum and equally as important, look to see how many members are active on the forum. You want to post to only those forums that are consistently active, that is has a large following and frequent postings.
You want to be a member of forums that have frequent posts per hour or per day and have very active members that post relevant questions and answers. You don’t want to be a member of a forum that rambles on and strays too frequently from the subject, topic or theme of the forum.
You want to look at the number of topics that the members present and comment on as well as the number of members that are active. The more robust and active a forum is the greater chances that the search engine robots are crawling that forum frequently or constantly.
You want to be a part of that activity, but you don’t want to be accused of spamming the forum with blatant advertising. Stick to the TOS (terms of service) of the forum and put your site links in your forum profile and signature if it is permitted.
Keep in mind that you are on the forum to answer the questions that the forum users have and to help them resolve any problems, challenges or concerns that members may be experiencing. Do that and you establish yourself as someone who is credible and willing to assist others?
You may soon find members turning to you for help with issues that they feel you have a solution for. They may contact you within the forum communication set-up or contact you through your site. Either way, you would have built a relationship with more members than you can possibly imagine over time.
Step 3
When you consistently leave constructive comments that add value to the posts, you not only brand yourself and your associated website or blog, but you establish yourself as someone who knows a great deal about your topic. Do this on a daily, weekly basis according to your time restraints and you will find that you build signature links with each forum comment you make and the possibility of links back to your site.
You will benefit from the leads you generate also, but remember, you are not a member of the forum to sell anyone anything, so be careful with any affiliate links, which generally violate the terms of most forums. Share generously and willingly and you’ll be okay.
