Get Indexed Quickly & Get More Traffic
You want to get your website, blog or forum indexed in shortest possible time that you can, because once you get indexed by the search engines, it will be easier for people to find you online. When you get indexed by the search engines, they are keeping a stored or cached page of your site to serve to visitors at a later time. When you make it easy for people to find you, you get traffic and everyone online can appreciate more traffic. Here’s how to get the boost your site deserves!
The Internet is a numbers game that requires you to give fresh, credible information to those seeking answers to their problems, challenges and concerns. You help others find a solution to their problems, challenges and/or concerns and they will reward you by maybe telling others about your site.
What better way to generate a continuous stream of visitors coming to your site, than to give people what they’re looking for. It could be a “How To,” about this topic or that subject, but whatever the theme, make the information useful and practical, something someone can take away right away and put into action.
When you get indexed by the searched engines you benefit as well as the person seeking resolution with some problem, concern or challenge that they may be facing. Even if a person online doesn’t know what they’re looking for, make it easy to get around your site and use relevant keywords that subscribe what your site is about.
In your description of your website, blog or forum, you may not want to compete with well-established, highly-ranked sites by using the same keywords that they are using, which would be far too competitive for a site just starting out. Imagine what you would type into a search engine box and use the “hidden keywords,” that aren’t so obvious, but searched for nonetheless.
You’ve seen these “hidden keywords,” but probably didn’t really pay attention to them when you typed a keyword or word phrase into the search box and the search engine box displayed a drop-down menu of “suggested terms” for you to use. You can do this by typing one word at a time and watch the “suggested terms” change. These “suggested terms” are keywords or word phrases that have been searched for by others and may suit you for using in your description of what your site is about.
In order to get indexed in the shortest possible time, you should strive to update your site as frequently as you are able to do so. Once a day would be fantastic, but knowing the demands that life puts on the majority of us, if you update your site with fresh content at least a few times a week, then you can expect to be well on your way to getting indexed quickly. How soon is anyone’s guess, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find it will happen sooner than later.
To help you get index quicker, you want to have some means for your visitors to interact with your site. By giving your visitors a means of interacting with your content, you over time build trust with your visitors and that’s got to be a good thing, huh? It could be something as simple as a comment box or form at the end of each post or article, a survey or poll, contest or guestbook.
You want to build relationships with other websites, blogs and forums that are in your niche. You want to locate the top websites that are similar themed and comment on topics that interest you and do the same for blogs and forums in your niche. The purpose of this is to establish your site online and if, you’re lucky, you’ll get more than a few links back to your site. You want to be posting constructive comments on highly-ranked, blogs and forums in your niche. To find the top-ranked blogs or forums for your niche, go to Alexa and put in the keyword for your niche.
For example, this blog is about affiliate marketing, tips and resources, so one of the search terms for Alexa would be, “affiliate marketing,” “affiliate marketing blogs,” and “affiliate marketing forums.” Alexa would return a host of highly-ranked sites that I would want to associate my site with by posting value-added comments on topics that I know something about or subjects that interest me. You can do the same thing also and get results immediately.
Links are good, because they help your site to establish its authority and in time, pagerank. Pagerank is how Google, establishes how important your website, blog or forum is compared to others, based on how many similar themed sites link to you. If, many similar themed sites are linking to you, then Google feels that your site must be an authority site, because you have many incoming links from similar themed sites.
Being an authority site takes time, but if and when, if ever your site ever becomes an authority site, is great, but that’s a milestone that takes some time or massive marketing efforts to achieve depending on the competition for the keywords that you are using for your site. So, don’t fret over becoming an authority site just yet or ever. Concentrate on giving your audience worthwhile topics that they are interested in and use the power of Social Media, to get indexed quickly.
What better way to get your site indexed quickly then to use the synergy of social media sites such as the social bookmarking sites like Blinklist, Blogmarks, ClipMarks, Delicious, Digg, Diigo, DZone, Fark, Faves, JumpTags, Kaboodle, LinkRoll, Mixx, Newsvine, Propeller, Reddit, Simpy, Slashdot, Social, StumbleUpon, Technorati, Twine, Yahoo Buzz, that already have authority, pagerank, user-generated content and the love of search engines to get your site crawled and indexed right now!
Don’t worry too much about the time all of this is going to take to submit your URL (site address) to all of these social bookmarking sites, because here is a free social bookmarking service, Social Marker, that will help to automate the process for you for some of the sites listed above.
Keep in mind that getting indexed is easier when you are linked with a site that has a decent pagerank which most of the above sites have and since they are already indexed, you submit your post or article with any one the authority sites and you are indexed within a week if not a few days. The search engines love sites that are user-generated, because the content is very recent (fresh) and the search engines crawls those sites constantly. You want your content associated with an authority site that is getting its user-generated content updated so often; it seems that the search engine robots never leave the site.
Here are three places that you can get links to your site and get indexed straightaway, because of the sheer numbers of users coming to these three sites. In no particular order they are Craigslist, Backpage and Kijiji. To get a link from these online classified ad sites, just create an ad for your local city about your site and you’ll get indexed in a matter of days.
