You want to get your website, blog or forum indexed in shortest possible time that you can, because once you get indexed by the search engines, it will be easier for people to find you online.  When you get indexed by the search engines, they are keeping a stored or cached page of your site to serve to visitors at a later time.  When you make it easy for people to find you, you get traffic and everyone online can appreciate more traffic.  Here’s how to get the boost your site deserves!

In your description of your website, blog or forum, you may not want to compete with well-established, highly-ranked sites by using the same keywords that they are using, which would be far too competitive for a site just starting out.  Imagine what you would type into a search engine box and use the “hidden keywords,” that aren’t so obvious, but searched for nonetheless.

You’ve seen these “hidden keywords,” but probably didn’t really pay attention to them when you typed a keyword or word phrase into the search box and the search engine box displayed a drop-down menu of “suggested terms” for you to use.  You can do this by typing one word at a time and watch the “suggested terms” change.  These “suggested terms” are keywords or word phrases that have been searched for by others and may suit you for using in your description of what your site is about.

In order to get indexed in the shortest possible time, you should strive to update your site as frequently as you are able to do so.  Once a day would be fantastic, but knowing the demands that life puts on the majority of us, if you update your site with fresh content at least a few times a week, then you can expect to be well on your way to getting indexed quickly.  How soon is anyone’s guess, but you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find it will happen sooner than later.

To help you get index quicker, you want to have some means for your visitors to interact with your site. For example, this blog is about affiliate marketing, tips and resources, so one of the search terms for Alexa would be, “affiliate marketing,” “affiliate marketing blogs,” and “affiliate marketing forums.”  Alexa would return a host of highly-ranked sites that I would want to associate my site with by posting value-added comments on topics that I know something about or subjects that interest me.  You can do the same thing also and get results immediately.

Links are good, because they help your site to establish its authority and in time, pagerank.  Pagerank is how Google, establishes how important your website, blog or forum is compared to others, based on how many similar themed sites link to you.  If, many similar themed sites are linking to you, then Google feels that your site must be an authority site, because you have many incoming links from similar themed sites.

Being an authority site takes time, but if and when, if ever your site ever becomes an authority site, is great, but that’s a milestone that takes some time or massive marketing efforts to achieve depending on the competition for the keywords that you are using for your site.  So, don’t fret over becoming an authority site just yet or ever.  Concentrate on giving your audience worthwhile topics that they are interested in and use the power of Social Media, to get indexed quickly.

What better way to get your site indexed quickly then to use the synergy of social media sites such as the social bookmarking sites like Blinklist, Blogmarks, ClipMarks, Delicious, Digg, Diigo,  DZone, Fark, Faves,  JumpTags, Kaboodle, LinkRoll, Mixx,  Newsvine, Propeller, Reddit, Simpy, Slashdot, Social, StumbleUpon, Technorati, Twine, Yahoo Buzz, that already have authority, pagerank, user-generated content and the love of search engines to get your site crawled and indexed right now!

Here are three places that you can get links to your site and get indexed straightaway, because of the sheer numbers of users coming to these three sites.  In no particular order they are Craigslist, Backpage and Kijiji.  To get a link from these online classified ad sites, just create an ad for your local city about your site and you’ll get indexed in a matter of days.
