Writing Content, Because You Must!
Do you know the number one reason people go on the Internet? Do you remember why you go online? Do you think that if you knew what people were looking for, it would give you more incentive to do your business online? Do you want to know what Internet surfers are looking for? Do you know that you can profit from understanding the number one reason people go online? Here are the answers to those questions that will get you the audience you deserve!
People for the most part go on the Internet for information. That information may have to do with solving some dilemma that they find themselves in or that information may be entertaining, such as “how to play this or that game or how to use this or that entertainment console, recording device, etc?,” but rest assured, by and large, people go on the Internet for information. It may be information about “how to do this or that?” or it may be information about “how to make money online?” or simply, “how to write content for your websites or blogs?”
Even if you didn’t know that the number one reason that people go online is for information, you need to understand that if you have a website or blog, you need to be updating it as often as you can with fresh information that is related to what your site is about. The information needs not only to be current, but of practical value to anyone who is interested in the subject of your website or blog theme.
The overwhelming majority of sites on the Internet are challenged with developing fresh and relevant content for their audiences. There is no shortage of information and there is more than one website or blog covering just about everything you want to know about anything. The concern for many site owners is how to develop or come up with fresh content for your business online? This is an easy question with an easy answer. If, you want to come up with unique content for your site, simply write it.
Writing content is just like speaking and with speaking; you don’t always get your point across or aren’t always easily understood, so here are some tips to developing relevant content for your site. Content is everywhere online. Know that when you take the subject or theme of your website or blog, you are constantly learning and discovering new things, if you are at all interested in your subject or theme. Take what you’ve read on similar themed websites, blogs and forums and explain it as if you were talking to your grandmother, who may or may not be on the Internet.
When you take what you’re genuinely interested in and write about it as if you were talking to your grandmother about it, you put what you’re interested in, in a context that others can understand. The reasoning being that if your grandmother, who may or may not be online, can understand it, your audience should be able to understand it also. Just in case, always have a means for your site visitors to ask questions or leave comments about your materials, such as a comment box or form at the end of each article or post.
One of many things that you will want to do with your content that you are interested in, is to add value to it. By adding value to content that you already know or are interested in, you give your audience something that they can take away from reading your article or post and start applying it right away. Oftentimes, this will be a new technique, a new strategy or a new website or blog that gives your audience what they’re looking for to solve some problem, challenge or concern that they have.
You want to be the person who takes the problems, challenges or concerns that others in your niche are facing and be the one who offers a solution. You want to be the person who has the answer for that problem, that challenge or that concern. You want to establish yourself as the “go to person,” for the niche that you are in. To do that, you have to brand yourself as well as brand your website or blog, as the place people go to online to get their problems answered or at the very least, discussed.
Tip #0
Starting from ground zero, you want to write about what you are genuinely interested in and you want to read about what you want to write about. If, you don’t know enough about what you want to write about, at least have the willingness, commitment and interest to learn enough about what you want to write about to be credible. If, you’re honest in your writings, it will show and you will gain readers.
Tip #1
Search on discussion boards in your niche or industry the problems that are common to most people online or offline and write an article or post about it. You can also write about the problems, challenges or concerns that you are having and share it with your audience.
Tip #2
With each problem, challenge or concern that you find online that is related to your website or blog theme that you write about, add value to each that someone reading the article can take away and use right away and tell your reader, what it is that you want them to do (call to action).
Tip #3
Write your primary article for your website or blog and then rewrite the article for distribution online using an article distribution site.
Tip #4
Realize that you can take a well-written article about some problem that is common to your niche or industry and turn it into a short e-Course of several sections, so that you can giveaway to your subscribers as an incentive and to build a relationship over time.
Tip #5
Take your relevant article that addresses some problem within your niche or industry and record the solution using audio or video or both and redistribute it as a Podcast and/or video. Podcast Marketing and Video Marketing will jumpstart your traffic and lead generation efforts immensely.
Tip #6
Write as often as you can and post as often as you can, and distribute your content widely online in many formats (text, audio, and video) giving value and your “call to action” with each article you write. Over time this will bring much needed readers, subscribers, traffic, and opportunities to monetize your content.
Tip #7
Repeat all of the steps above and when you finish, start over and repeat once again, each time adding value and including your “call to action.”
You want to read the websites, blogs, forums and discussion boards, which are related to your niche or industry and you, will discover the general problems people in your niche or industry are having. Give them a solution, if you know one or several. Write about it on your site. Write about a solution or the solutions for the problems, challenges or concerns that others are facing in your niche or industry and publish the answers, not only on your site, but on other sites, such as:

ArticleDirectory, and other article marketing sites will not only expose your freshly written articles to a wider audience, but give you the necessary inbound links to raise your pagerank with the search engines. Just be sure that the content is not the same exact article, so that there are no duplicate content issues. You want to rewrite each article that you submit to an article distributor, with your site address in the resource box, which is at the bottom of each piece you write, hopefully, bringing some of the readers of your articles back to your site.
Your objective with each article or post that you write will be twofold and that is to offer value to your reader with each article or post that you write for your site or to be distributed widely with article distribution sites, and to tell the reader exactly what you expect them to do, at some point in your article. You want your readers to take away from reading your article, something that they can use, right now and you want them to do something for you, or take action. This “take action,” is also known as a “call to action.” A “call to action” is what you want the reader to do immediately after reading or during the reader of your article. Tell the reader what you want them to do while reading or after reading your content.
It could be something as telling the reader to subscribe to your newsletter if you have one, or to follow you on Twitter, or visit your site for more information, or to bookmark your site, or whatever you decide, but your article should always include “value” and a “call to action” of what you want your reader to do. You do that and you will have not only addressed your niche or industry’s general or specific concerns, challenges and/or problems, but if you are distributing your articles with article marketing sites, you will gain some worthwhile inbound links to your site which will help with traffic and lead generation and your search engine rankings as well. Do this and you will have a proverbial win-win situation for your audience and your site.
